Deinosuchus rugosus

Deinosuchus was not a dinosaur. It is related to modern day alligators. The small skull is of a modern crocodile.

Schools and students have permission to use this graphic for non-commercial, educational purposes.

What does its name mean? – Terrible crocodile

What did they eat? – Like modern day crocodiles and alligators, deinosuchus ate meat.

When did they live? – Deinosuchus lived around 80 to 73 million years ago.

How big were they? – They could have been up to 8 to 10m long.
